Description
IELS is a suspended sculpture made of annealed wire, whose free-form structure unfolds in space like a kind of writing. Hand-shaped, each loop and twist seems to hesitate, reach out, then fold back in a spontaneous and undefined movement. Its transparency lets light pass through, and its open curves create a dialogue with air and surrounding space.
The title refers to the gender-neutral pronoun “iel”, now used to describe non-binary identities. This piece is a subtle form of affirmation, a tribute to those who inhabit the in-between spaces.
