This work has marked my artistic journey. I embarked on its creation with great eagerness and hope. I had just discovered the work of Ruth Asawa, and her large mesh volumes immediately appealed to me because of their lightness, elegance and use of wire. After spending a whole winter trying to understand the mesh technique, and after several small successful attempts, it was my turn to make a large wire work. Cellule was born, with the theme “the family”. Each volume represents a person, connected to the others by a cord, with each one its own identity (symbolized by the copper ball).
